JSC exams will not be held after one or two years
JSC exams will not be held after one or two years. Professor Nehal Ahmed, Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, said that the Junior School Certificate examinations for eighth-grade students are going up in a year or two. He said no decision has been taken yet on this year’s JSC exam. When the implementation of the new curriculum started, the JSC examination was supposed to go up from 2024.
Asked about the JSC exam, the director-general said, “There is a misunderstanding about the JSC exam.” Many think JSC is a public exam. But this is not a public test. The test was taken as per the order of the ministry. We have not been taking the JSC exam for the last two years. We are giving a certificate to the students. No decision has been taken yet on whether this year’s JSC exam will be held or not. But after a year or two, the JSC examination will not remain the same.
The implementation of the new curriculum will start in 2023. In this curriculum, there will be only one examination in the 10th class at the secondary level and one examination in the eleventh and twelfth class at the higher secondary level. The final results of higher secondary will be determined with the results of classes XI and XII. From 2024, 8th and 9th class students will come under the new curriculum. If such a decision is implemented, then from 2024, there will be no JSC examination for 8th class students.
The implementation of the curriculum will start in 2023 through 1st and 2nd class and 6th and 8th class students. The 3rd and 4th classes and 8th and 9th classes of 2024 will come under this curriculum. All students will be brought under this curriculum by 2025. According to the new curriculum, there will be no sections in the ninth and tenth classes. According to the outline of the new curriculum, from 2024 onwards, the division of secondary level students is going up. The division of 9th class in 2024 and 10th class in 2025 is emerging.
