There are about 41,000 vacancies in the undergraduate and degree pass courses at the National University. Even then, no new students will be admitted there, the authorities said. According to the latest data from the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC), there were 24,794 vacancies in the university in 2019-2020. First-year classes at the National University started last October.
National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Mashiur Rahman said that even if the seats are vacant, there is no chance of admitting new students. Because the exams of the first-year students will start after a while. Now if students are admitted, they will not have the opportunity to take preparation. If you wait for them again, the session jam may also increase. At the same time, the admission process for the students of the new academic year has to be started.
Rajshahi University has about 90 vacancies. University authorities have said they will no longer admit students. The university is preparing to start the admission process for the new academic year. According to the latest information, 4,173 seats were reserved in Rajshahi University in three units of ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ this year. There are currently no vacancies in the ‘C’ unit. However, there are about 90 vacancies, including 10 in the B unit and about 80 in the A unit. The first-year class of Rajshahi University has started on 21st December.
