Students of private universities are getting unique IDs

The government is arranging unique IDs for students of private universities. It will keep all the information of the university and students. The government has taken this initiative to ensure certificate verification and to protect students from fraud. A meeting of the University Grants Commission (UGC) is scheduled to be held on Tuesday (February 1) afternoon to mark the occasion. The meeting will be attended by the Registrar of all the private universities and two officials concerned with admission. Unique ID was proposed at the beginning of last year’s coronary vaccination

With the introduction of Unique ID, it will be possible to protect all the interests of the students, said UGC. According to them, the unique ID will be helpful in various administrative tasks including confusion about the number of students, correct identification of students, stopping showing fake student admissions, stopping fraud in the name of credit transfer. According to the UGC, every student studying in a private university will have a 16-digit identification number.

It will contain the serial number, year of admission, semester of admission, hall, program number, and roll number of the student respectively. All private universities will have a serial number provided by UGC. The sequence will be 3 digits. The unique ID will contain the admission code of the student concerned. In this case, the last two digits of the calendar year in which the student is admitted will sit.

Then there will be the admission semester code. Then there is the code. Then the program code will get a place in the ID. The UGC prescribed code will sit here. Then the student’s sequence. The serial number of the student’s admission in the relevant course/program will be 3 digits. Admission of the student to the respective university will be in accordance with the order or procedure prescribed by the university
