Data can be recovered by purchasing the same package again. Mobile Internet subscribers will be able to use unused data if they renew the same package before the expiration date. Customers will not lose the unused data of the previous period if they buy the same package again. Until then, there was no way to use unused data once the data package had expired. Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar inaugurated the event at a function at the BTRC building on Tuesday (March 15).

Under the previous rule, customers could only carry forward unused data if they bought the same pack for the same period before the package expired. Under the new rules, if the customer buys a data pack of different duration before the expiration of the package, the data pack of three days duration can be used or carried forward for full 30 days.

Under the new guidelines, the number of regular packages and customer-centric special packages is 40-45 and maximum of 50. And the number of research and development packages is 10 and a maximum of 10. The total number of packages is 95. According to the new guidelines, the validity of all packages should be 3, 6, 15, and 30 days. If the mobile operator launches any regular package, its validity will be at least one month. The new guidelines specify the number of packages so that the customer can easily choose one of his choices. Customers can also purchase fixed-term packages as per their choice. This removes the time constraint on telecom giants’ scheduled use of mobile data. On Tuesday, BTRC organized an event in Dhaka to announce new data packages and package renewal procedures.
