Unused mobile data will be added to the new package. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is going to make major changes in the data package of mobile internet. This change will reduce the number of offers of operators and customers will get unused data of their current package along with the next package. BTRC has already instructed the operators to implement the new decision from next March.
It is learned that this decision was taken to relieve the customers from the net of more packages and complicated conditions. This is because finding your own convenient package from these packages is often a source of confusion. BTRC Vice-Chairman Subrata Roy Maitra said, “There are numerous packages in the market which are creating confusion. Customers are complaining about this at the ministry, BTRC’s call center, and during public hearings. We have taken this initiative to simplify the data packages. So that customers can easily choose the package of their choice. ‘
Under the new guidelines, an operator can offer up to 95 packages in three sections. These are regular packages, customer-centric special packages, and research and development packages. The maximum number of regular packages for all types of customers can be 50. The maximum number of customer-centric special packages will be 35. The remaining 10 will come from research and development departments so that operators can analyze the effectiveness of packages and changing customer trends. Each package will have a duration of 3, 6, 15, and 30 days. Under the new BTRC guidelines, unused data will be added to the next package if the customer purchases the same package before the expiry of any data package regardless of the duration. Not only this, with the help of new packages you can transfer unused data in three other types of terms.
For example, if a customer buys a package of 8 GB (GB) of data and 100 minutes of talk time within a period of 3 days and cannot finish it within the stipulated time, then the unused data or talk time can no longer be used. But from March 1, customers who purchase the same package before the expiration date will get the benefit of transferring unused data and talk time to the new package. As a result, unused data and talk time will be added to new data and talk time.
