How Martyrs’ Day will be celebrated in primary schools. The Department of Primary Education has ordered all government primary schools to observe Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21 (Monday). Schools have been asked to formulate their own programs in accordance with hygiene to celebrate the day. On Martyrs’ Day, the department has asked children to organize painting competitions, poetry reading, and cultural programs. At the same time, schools have been instructed to keep the national flag at half-mast from sunset to sunrise.
According to the department, the national flag will be kept at half-mast in all educational institutions and offices in February 2017, in the right way, in the right color and size. The national flag should be hoisted at sunrise and the national flag should be lowered at sunset. Proper rules have to be followed in reducing the national flag to half-mast. All educational institutions in the country will take measures to celebrate the day by formulating their respective programmes in accordance with the national programme to celebrate the day with due dignity, following proper hygiene.
Prayers and prayers should be organized in mosques, temples, churches and other places of worship for the forgiveness of the soul of the language martyrs. The correct names of the language martyrs should be used during prayers and prayers. The instructions sent to the education officers also said that the district primary education officers will ensure that posters are received, distributed and pasted as per the number of primary schools from the district information officer.
On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, painting competitions, rhyme recitation, poetry reading and cultural programmes with children should be organized. The district and the Upazila should participate in all the programs taken by the local district administration by the following hygiene. The department said the instructions were issued as per the minutes of the meeting held on February 2 on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, chaired by the Secretary, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
