There is a chance to get admission for the second time to Jahangirnagar University. There is an opportunity to get admission for the second time at Jahangirnagar University. That’s where the matter is supposed to be finalized. The Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) has sent two directives to the universities. The two instructions are to organize the admission test in a short syllabus and give a second chance to the students in the admission test.
The students have been agitating for some time demanding a second admission to the universities. Students do not get a chance to take the admission test for the second time in Dhaka, Rajshahi, and Chittagong Universities. Due to the shortage of education in the Corona epidemic, the admission seekers have been demanding the resumption of that facility due to auto pass. They are carrying out various programs. They have given memoranda to the VC of the university, deans of the faculty.
They held demonstrations and human rights rallies in Dhaka, Chittagong, and Rajshahi Universities. In all countries of the world, students get multiple opportunities to get admission to universities. In the subcontinent, we only have strange rules in our country. We want this opportunity to be restored in all universities. We do not want to be hindered at the beginning of higher education.
In this regard, the pro-VC (education) of the university, Prof Nurul Alam, said that the decision will be taken after discussing the matter in the academic council meeting. Nothing can be said before. However, I personally feel that if there is no chance of a second admission, then the students should be informed at least a year in advance. For this time, however, there should be a chance to get admission for the second time. Meanwhile, in Rajshahi University, VC Professor Golam Sabbir has also voted in favor of the opportunity to take the admission test for the second time.
