Admission fee of 16 thousand taka in JUST

Admission fee of 16 thousand taka in JUST 16 thousand and a half to be admitted to Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) in 2020-21. Admission seekers and parents say the cost of admission to a public university is unusual. The university administration is cutting the pockets of the students with unusual fees in the name of developing the complaints of the students. This year, 52,640 people applied for 930 seats in 26 departments under seven faculties.

Each of them had to pay 750 rupees per head to apply. As a result, the income of the university has been three crores 42 lakh 16 thousand rupees. Even after that the university administration is taking 16 thousand 750 rupees from the students for admission in the name of development and showing different sectors. In this way, a total of 930 seats will be deposited one crore 84 lakh 14 thousand 500 rupees.

A circular signed by the University’s Registrar Engineer Ahsan Habib outlined the overall cost of admission. According to the admission notification, a total of Tk 18,650 is being taken from the students in two separate sectors. Of these, the admission fee is Tk 1,500, salary (1st semester) is Tk 900, the university registration fee is Tk 800, the annual fee is Tk 150, sports fee is Tk 200, the medical fee is Tk 200, transport fee is Tk 800, syllabus fee is Tk 200, electricity fee is Tk 200. 200 rupees, religious fee 50 rupees, establishment fee 100 rupees, literature and cultural fee 300 rupees, security deposit 1000 rupees, club and social activities 200 rupees, emergency help 50 rupees, information technology, and communication services 600 rupees, academic calendar 300 rupees. Also practical and course fee is Rs. 1,500, grade sheet and market verification fee is Rs. 500, laboratory development fee is Rs. 4,000, library fee is Rs. 1,500, student welfare fee is Rs. 50. Faculty development fee is Tk 2,000, hall attachment fee is Tk 750, health examination fee is Tk 100.

Where the university is taking a total of 3000 rupees as admission fee, salary (1st semester), and university registration fee, again 1,500 rupees have to be multiplied in the name of practical and course fee. Rs 1,500 has been earmarked for practical and course fees and Rs 4,000 has been earmarked for laboratory development. Which is by no means logical and conflicting. Even after that, 2,000 rupees are being taken in the name of faculty development. Although 500 rupees are being taken for grade sheet and mark sheet verification, it is possible to do online verification through digital technology.

In this regard, the father of a student who came for admission in the first year engineering faculty said, For example, in Habiprabi one has to apply in one unit but in Jabiprabi one has to apply separately in four faculties of science. I also seem to have inconsistencies in some places in the admission fee. Middle-class families like us are tired of paying school and college fees. We have to spend a lot of money and labor to bring a child to this point. When it came to getting admitted to a public university, it seemed that this time the burden of this fee may be over, but there are also many problems here.
