Medical admission test syllabus will be short
The medical admission test syllabus will be short. A medical admission test is a short syllabus or the whole syllabus – the students are in a kind of dilemma. This situation is hampering their overall preparation. According to Section 3.3 of the Student Admission Policy for MBBS-BDS Course in Medical-Dental College-2022 recently framed by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, it is said to take medical admission test this year as per HSC or equivalent syllabus. Not mentioned. Therefore, the admitted students are in extreme confusion and uncertainty.
Due to the Corona epidemic, the HSC examination in 2021 has been held in a short syllabus. According to that section of the policy, the medical admission tests should also be in a short syllabus. According to the Hon’ble Minister of Education, the admission test of all the universities should be in the syllabus in which the students have appeared for the board examination (i.e. short syllabus). At the end of the board examination and after the results were published, the Minister had more than once promised to conduct all the admission tests in a short syllabus this year.
In view of this, almost all the universities including Dhaka University, BUET, Engineering Bunch (CUET, QUET, and RUET), GST Bunch (Chittagong University, 20 universities including Rajshahi University), MIST, Jahangirnagar University have already taken policy decision to take the admission test in short syllabus. This year, the date of the medical admission test has been fixed on April 1. Medical admission tests will be held before all admission tests. However, in the notification of the medical admission test published on February 24, it was not clearly mentioned in which syllabus the admission test will be held.
Students of the same academic year should also have coordination in the syllabus of different admission tests (engineering, medical and other universities). This is because, in order to survive in the competitive environment of the admission test, every student has to be mentally prepared to participate in multiple admission tests. Therefore, if most of the universities take the admission test in the short syllabus and medical in the full syllabus, then there will be a huge disruption in the preparation of students and they will be emotionally broken. As a result, they will lose interest in giving medical admission tests.
