Admission in XI: ‘Understanding’ Application advice in the second step.Despite applying for the first stage of admission in class XI, 1 lakh 17 thousand students were not selected for admission in any college. Of these, more than 12,000 students received GPA-5. However, students who are not nominated for admission will get the opportunity to apply for the second and third stages. Officials of the education administration have identified ‘ambition’ as the reason why millions of students could not be selected even though there were enough seats for admission in class XI. They say that many students could not be selected because they did not understand and applied to the famous college. After understanding them, the Board of Education officials have suggested to apply for the second and third steps. They say there are still enough seats for admission in the XI.
Of the 1 lakh 17 thousand 906 students who applied for admission in the first stage but could not be selected for college admission, 32 thousand 94 are students of science department, 6 thousand 17 students of business education department and 10 thousand 695 students of humanities department. Of the 12,160 students who could not be selected for college admission even after getting GPA-5, 4,905 from Dhaka Board, 1,437 from Comilla Board, 1,603 from Rajshahi Board, 285 from Jessore Board, 6 from Chittagong Board, Barisal There are 498 students of the board, 63 students of Sylhet board, 1,564 students of Dinajpur board, 575 students of Mymensingh board, 185 students of Madrasa board and 6 students of the technical board. All the students who got GPA-5 and got admission in the college are known to be from science department.
They selected the reputed colleges of their respective boards. But the students who got higher marks from them in those colleges also gave their choice. Besides, there was an opportunity for 10 applications but many did not give a choice after applying for 5 applications. Although they could have given a choice to a few more colleges. When asked, the chairman of the Dhaka Board of Education [under the order of transfer to the post of director-general of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education], Professor Nehal Ahmed said on Wednesday, after reviewing the applications of students who were not nominated for admission, they did not have the opportunity to apply.
Some students who got GPA-5 may have got 1000 marks. But he has chosen the reputed college of the capital in his choice list. Now he has put Dhaka College on that list. The total number of students who have been nominated for admission in Dhaka College has been found to be 1,100 or more. He who applied with 1000 marks did not get the opportunity.Dhaka Board Secretary Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar said, although there were enough seats, many did not get the opportunity. The reason is ambition. They have appealed to the students without choosing their home or nearby institution. Many students did not get the chance to get admission as they applied for admission in the college. However, they will have the opportunity to apply for the second and third steps.
