Seats in JSC Vocational are half empty. For the first time in the country, the JSC Vocational level has been introduced. Across the country, 46,459 students have been admitted in 64,000 seats in 134 government technical schools and colleges from sixth to ninth class. In order to start technical-vocational or technical school from this year, in 2021, 25 technical schools and colleges started teaching in JSC vocational curriculum. In this curriculum, a subject called ‘career-oriented engineering education’ is included along with the subjects of general education. According to him, the Technical Education Board has published the policy of admitting students in the sixth to ninth classes in the new curriculum from 2022. Applications for technical pre-vocational admission started in December last year.
The admission process ended in mid-January. In this, 64,240 seats were created in 134 technical schools and colleges across the country from sixth to ninth class. Of these, 11,534 people have been admitted in 16,440 seats in sixth class, 6,103 people in 16,440 seats in seventh class, 8,209 people in 18,440 seats in eighth class and 20,613 people in 34,920 seats in ninth class. A total of 46,459 people have been admitted to four levels.
A total of 14 trades have been introduced in these institutions. Each of them has four trades. In addition to general education, students will be trained in these trades. Vocational courses have been introduced at the school level to spread technical education Omar Farooq, director-general of the technical education department, said many students find it difficult to understand the curriculum after enrolling in technical education from general education. That’s why some people are falling. That is why pre-vocational courses have been introduced in line with vocational education. It has received a good response in the case of admission.
