Universal pension system launched within one year. The government is going to introduce a universal pension system for Bangladeshi nationals in the age group of 18 to 50 years. The same opportunity is being kept for Bangladeshis living abroad. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said it would be possible to launch the system in the next six months to one year. Initially, this system was kept optional, but later it will be made mandatory.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told this to reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement on Wednesday (February 23). The Finance Minister said that the government will also give the same amount to those who will donate to the fund formed under the pension system. Separate authority will be set up to manage it. The pension fund will be invested in various places by this authority. The profit that comes from the investment will also be distributed among the pensioners.

When asked when the system will be introduced, the finance minister said it can be done in the next six months to a year. Before that, laws will be framed and rules will be framed and a separate authority will be formed. When asked about how much money has to be deposited every month and how much pension will be available, the finance minister said things are still in the process. The authorities will fix them. The way such activities are carried out by different countries of the world, the best methods in the world will be followed to implement the universal pension system.
