In-person classes of Rajshahi University have started. After being closed for 33 days due to the situation of the new variant of coronavirus, Omikron, the physical classes have started in Rajshahi University (Rabi). On Tuesday (February 22) morning, the campus came back to life in the presence of the students. According to the previous announcement, classes started in all the departments from the morning. Since morning, the students of different departments started coming to the campus with the necessary preparations.
There was also a crowd of students on the university bus. Classrooms also saw 80% attendance of students. Stating that it is a good feeling to be back in the class after a long time, Zareen Tasneem of the department of philosophy said that it is good to be able to attend classes again after a long month of in-person classes have been closed. Apart from this, the exam is coming up next month, so the in-person classes are much more effective than online, the student said.
When asked about the vaccination of the students, the university’s deputy vice-chancellor Prof Sultan-ul-Islam said, “We have spoken to the city corporation. As before, we will again arrange to vaccinate unvaccinated students at the university’s medical center. He said it will start very soon. On January 20, under the direction of the Ministry of Education in the wake of the corona outbreak, Rajshahi University decided to close the classes in person till February 6 and conduct limited activities. As the situation was not normal, the university administration upheld the same decision for another 15 days.
