Today the Holy Laylatul Qadr.Today is the holy Lailatul Qadr. It is an honorable and glorious night. Allah Ta’ala says, ‘Shabe Qadr is better than a thousand months’ (Surah: Qadr, verse 3). Imam Tabari (Rah.) In his Tafsir mentions in Tabari, ‘The period of Lailatul Qadr is better than the period of a thousand months, in which there is no other night of Qadr’ (Tabari in Tafsir).

Every year, one of the odd nights of the last decade of the month of Ramadan is the night of destiny or Lailatul Qadr. Shabe Qadr is the best blessing of Muhammad in the Ummah. This night has a special opportunity to be soaked in the love of Allah, to be saved from Hell and to attain Paradise. The word ‘Shabe Kadar’ is Persian. Shab means night or kadar and kadar means glorious, honor, dignity, virtue, possibility, fortune etc. Shabe Kadar means night of dignity or destiny. The Arabic of Shabe Qadr is Lailatul Qadr or the honored night. The night on which the Qur’an was revealed is called Lailatul Qadr.

Holy Lailatul Qadr is a very blessed and virtuous night for mankind. This night is better than a thousand months. The holy book Al-Quran was revealed on Lailatul Qadr. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): Therefore, the importance, significance and virtue of Shabakdar is too much for the Muslim Ummah. This night brings us the opportunity to gain the virtue of more than a thousand months of worship in our fleeting life.

May this glorious night bring forgiveness, blessings, prosperity and welfare for all. I offer this munajat in the court of Almighty Allah. This night’s worship is better than a thousand months of worship. On this night, God’s infinite mercy and blessings are showered. Through worship on this holy night, we can gain nearness to Almighty God. We can achieve His infinite mercy, salvation, blessing and forgiveness.
