The postponed viva of the 40th BCS could begin next week.
The oral examination of the 40th BCS has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in the country. However, the Public Service Commission (PSC) wants to resume the suspended Viva on a limited scale next week. According to PSC sources, around 15 members of the PSC have been infected with coronavirus after the spread of the new type of corona, Omikron. Members are not coming to the office because they are infected. Due to this, the viva board cannot be formed. Due to this, the oral examination of this BCS was postponed
If you want to know, the PSC Chairman Md. Sohrab Hossain told The Daily Campus on Saturday (January 29) morning that the oral examination of the BCS has been postponed due to some problems. But we want to start taking the suspended viva in quick time. Several of our members are infected with corona. Once two or three of them are healthy, the viva will begin to be taken.
Asked when the suspended viva could be started, the PSC chairman also said, “We want to finish the viva of the 40th BCS as soon as possible and give them results.” If all goes well, the suspended viva of the 40th BCS will be started within a week.
According to the information, 4,12,532 candidates had applied for the 40th BCS preliminary examination. Of these, 3,27,000 candidates took the exam. Among them, 20,277 passed the prelims. The PSC had released the 40th BCS notification in August 2018. A total of 1,903 cadres will be taken in the 40th BCS. It will recruit 200 people in the administration cadre, 72 in the police, 25 in foreign affairs, 24 each, 32 in customs excise, and about 800 in the education cadre. A total of 1,903 cadres will be recruited. However, this number may increase further.
