According to the government’s calendar, SSC exams are scheduled from February 1 and HSC exams from April 1 every year. The tests could not be conducted in the scheduled time since 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic. Due to Corona, the government closed all educational institutions in the country on March 17, 2020. After a year and a half of closure, all schools and colleges were opened in September last year. Later, higher educational institutions were also opened in a phased manner.

Education board officials said the syllabus has already been shortened to conduct this year’s SSC and HSC exams. Preparations have already begun for the exam. At the same time, there are plans to reduce some of the subjects in the exam. According to the plan, there will be a written test of 50 marks. Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, secretary of the Dhaka Education Board, told the media, “We have a plan to conduct exams in most of the subjects instead of taking exams in all subjects. It is also being considered to take the test of 50 marks instead of 100 marks. Apart from this, there is also a plan to reduce the time to one and a half hours or two hours instead of three hours.
