Four instructions for students’ unique ID
The government has taken the initiative to create a ‘unique ID’ for all students from class 6 to 12. The unique ID will contain all the basic and educational information of the student. Data entry for unique ID has started. It runs until February 16.
On Thursday (January 20), the Bangladesh Education Information and Statistics Bureau (Banbeis) issued four instructions regarding the data entry of unique ID.
The instructions are —
- In 2022, the process of filling up the information form of students studying in class VI will remain temporarily suspended until further instructions.

Data entry has to be done according to the student’s class in the student’s information. That is, the students will have to enter the data as the class mentioned in the form. All students’ information has to be entered considering the year 2021.
3′ If the birth of the student’s parent/guardian is registered, it must be given in 17 digits. That is, the year of birth should be given at the beginning of the 13-digit number.
If the student’s name is not displayed after the student’s BRN and date of birth entry, other information cannot be entered and the first page will not be saved.
Why unique ID:
A unique ID is being created to keep all the basic and educational information of every student in one place. After the student completes 18 years of age, this ID will be converted into a National Identity Card (NID).
