11 Instructions to Close Educational Institutions

The government has closed educational institutions for two weeks to prevent corona infection. In such a situation, even if the class activities are stopped in person, online teaching activities will continue. The Department of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi) has issued 11 instructions to teachers and educational institutions in such a situation of extreme weather last Saturday.

The directive said such an order has been issued to conduct the overall activities of schools and colleges under the Department of Secondary and Higher Education to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Sources in the cabinet order said that in view of the appropriate issues and formulas, all concerned, including school and college authorities under the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, are being informed that the overall activities should be conducted in accordance with the following instructions to prevent the spread of coronavirus:

1. The class activities in person will be stopped till February 6, 2022.

2. At this time, the educational institution’s authorities will continue learning activities on online/virtual platforms on the basis of reality

3. The Covid-19 vaccination program of students in the age group of 12-17 years will continue in accordance with proper hygiene. In this regard, the Regional Office of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, the District Education Officer, and the Upazila/Thana Secondary Education Office will continue to coordinate with the local administration and civil surgeons.

4. Educational institutions should take utmost precautions to ensure uninterrupted and safe connectivity to all electricity, telephone, internet, water, and gas connections of institutions including closed classrooms, libraries, laboratories.

5. At this time, special emphasis should be given to the maintenance and overall security of all the resources of educational institutions.

6. Educational institutions can be placed in charge of teachers and employees in accordance with hygiene in the urgent need of the main institution

7. Hostels/hostels will remain open till further instructions are given to the educational institutions where valid residential students are staying in the hostels/hostels. But all concerned have to strictly adhere to proper hygiene.

8. All officers, teachers, and employees working in all departments and educational institutions under the Department must receive vaccination certificates.

9. The office of the educational institution will be operational as usual; There will be daily activities in accordance with hygiene.

10. The ongoing sports competitions in different parts of the country organized by national schools, madrassas, and technical sports associations will be postponed till further orders.

11. Cleanliness programs should be continued regularly in educational institutions.
