For several days now, Google has been talking about taking steps to stop call recording on Android phones. Real-time call recording has been stopped since Android 7. Google then banned call recording from a microphone inside a call on the Android 10 operating system. Although multiple apps using the Android operating system accessibility service are still offering call recording services.

According to the new Play Store rules, no app will be able to record remote calls through the Accessibility API. Apps will no longer be able to record calls if this API is banned. As a result, call recording from Android phones will be stopped just like iPhones. Google has announced that the new rules will be effective from May 11.
