Pm orders the speedy launch of 5G across the country. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered to strengthen the 4G network across the country and launch 5G at the earliest. Planning Minister M A Mannan said the prime minister gave the order at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ACNEC) on Tuesday. He said the prime minister gave this direction while approving a Rs 1,059-crore project to launch 5G in the meeting.
At the same meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also ordered to reduce the gas-electricity subsidy. The Prime Minister also said that if the arrears of gas and electricity are not paid at the public-private level, then the connection will be disconnected. He said this by ordering the recovery of gas-electricity dues. At the public-private level, the electricity bill is now about Rs 9,000 crore. And the gas bill is pending at Rs 6,365 crore. The planning minister told reporters about the meeting that the head of the government has asked to withdraw from subsidies on gas and electricity. He has also been directed to chalk out strategies to withdraw from subsidies in a phased manner.
