Educational institutions to open from March 1. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said that all educational institutions in the country will be opened from March 1. He said this at a briefing after the cabinet meeting on Sunday (February 20). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the cabinet. The secretary also said that from March 1, all educational institutions will be open, but pre-primary education activities will remain closed. At the same time, there will be no corona restrictions from February 22.

The secretary said the cabinet has decided to make ‘Joy Bangla’ the national slogan. All those working in constitutional posts, government and private offices should chant ‘Joy Bangla’ in their speeches. In all educational institutions, the slogan ‘Joy Bangla’ should be used in the assembly, in the meetings, in the seminars, in the rallies. A notification in this regard will be issued by the Cabinet Division in a couple of days.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has also decided to lift the restrictions from February 22 as the daily corona infection has come down. On January 13, the government imposed 11 points of restriction on the rise in corona infections. Later on January 21, five more instructions were issued, including the closure of educational institutions. Recently, after a meeting of the Ministry of Education with the Consultative Committee, it was decided to open educational institutions.

The education minister said that from February 22, all educational institutions in the country will be able to take classes and exams in person. However, not all students will get this opportunity. Only those who have received two doses of the vaccine can take classes in person. The rest will have to take online classes. Primary schools will open from March 1. However, it has not yet been decided to open pre-primary schools.
