National Lab will be set up at BUET
National Lab will be set up at BUET. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) and the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Under the agreement, BEPRC will set up a national lab at BUET.As the chief guest at the signing ceremony of the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources. Tawfiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury Bir Bikram, Senior Secretary of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources as a special guest.
Mahbub Hossain, Secretary of the Department of Power. Habibur Rahman, BUET Vice-Chancellor Prof. Satya Prasad Majumder, and Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) member. Muhammad Alamgir was present.At the BUET Research and Innovation Center for Science and Engineering (RISE) Director Prof. Muhammad Anisuzzaman Talukder presented a report on the effectiveness of setting up a National Lab. BEPRC Chairman (Secretary) Satyajit Karmakar presided over the function. Satya Prasad Majumder and BEPRC Chairman (Secretary) Satyajit Karmakar signed on behalf of their respective organizations.
It was informed that the laboratory would be initially set up at BUET and later its footprint would be set up in different parts of the country. To ensure that practical and innovative research links between various local and international research institutes can be sponsored. In addition to conducting periodic training, seminars, workshops to coordinate the needs of other stakeholders, including academic research and industry organizations, to set up a data repository to share data with stakeholders in various data storage and research activities in the power and energy sector. In order to implement the goal, domestic and sustainable solutions to the existing problems in the energy and power sectors can be devised.
