At the end of the fifth phase of admission in Shabiprabi, 286 seats are vacant. Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Shabiprabi) is undergoing the admission process for the first year of graduation in 2020-21. At the end of the fifth phase, there are 286 vacant seats in the university. The seats will be filled according to the merit list, the admissions committee said. In the ‘A’ unit of the Science Faculty, there are 147 vacancies against 955 general seats. There are 139 vacancies against 602 seats in the ‘B’ unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Of these, 57 are vacant against 225 seats in the science stream, 32 against 83 seats in the commerce stream, and 50 seats against 294 in the humanities department.

For the first time, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology conducted the admission test in a cluster. They started the admission process in the first week of January. Later, the anti-VC movement broke out in the admission process. Confirming the vacancy of seats, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, chairman of the admission committee, said that at the end of the fifth phase of admission, 286 seats are lying vacant against a total of 1,587 seats. I hope that the admission process will be completed soon.

Meanwhile, even after three and a half months of the admission test, the students have expressed anger over not being able to complete the admission process here. They blamed the lack of coordination of the cluster for not being able to complete the admissions on schedule. The admission office said that despite the publication of the merit list repeatedly, there is a delay in completing the admission as there are not enough students. Apart from this, the admission work was not going on normally in the anti-VC movement. Classes will start soon after the admissions are over.
