Various education boards have published the scholarship list of HSC candidates for the year 2023. Of these, Dhaka, Sylhet, Barisal, Comilla, and Mymensingh education boards have published the list on the website till Thursday.
Based on the results of the public examination, 10,501 students will get scholarships from all the education boards this year. Out of these, 1,125 students will get merit scholarships and 9,376 students will get a general scholarship.
Those who get the scholarship will get tk 825 per month and tk 1,800 per year at a time. And general scholarship holders will be given tk 375 a month and a one-time tk 750 per year. The hsc candidates of 2020 were not tested due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The merit and general scholarship list has been released based on hsc exam results in 2022. Recently, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi) published a total of 1,125 merit scholarships under the nine education boards of the country and 9,375 in the general quota.

According to the notification, based on the results of last year’s (2021) HSC examination, the list has been finalized by the Ministry of Education for awarding merit and general scholarships belonging to the revenue sector. A total of 10,500 students, including 1,125 in the merit quota and 9,375 in the general quota, have been finalized for the scholarship. For the merit scholarship, the student will be given a monthly grant of Rs 825 and a one-time grant (annual) of tk 1,800. A monthly grant of Rs 375 and a one-time grant (yearly) of tk 750 will be provided for the general scholarship. The cost of this scholarship will be spent from the scholarship/merit scholarship sector of the current (2021-2022) fiscal year’s revenue budget.
The notification also said that the scholarship gazette will be published on March 31. Educational institutions have been directed to send the hardcopy of the same to the director-general of the concerned department and send the students to the dsheboardgazette@gmail.com address along with roll and registration number.
Hsc results of the students are released on the basis of JSC and SSC results. And on the basis of hsc results, various education boards of the country have published the list of students who have received merit scholarships and general scholarships.
This time, a total of 3,127 students have received scholarships from The Dhaka Education Board. 427 students have received merit scholarships and 2,700 students have received general scholarships. As many as 214 students from the science stream, 106 from the humanities stream, and 107 from the business education department received merit scholarships. And 1,350 students of the science department, 675 students of the humanities department and 675 students of the business education department got the general scholarship.
In Sylhet Education Board, 31 students got merit scholarships and 592 students got general scholarships, Barisal Education Board got 41 merit scholarships and 570 general scholarships, 69 merit scholarships and 896 general scholarships in Comilla Education Board and 72 students in Mymensingh Education Board got merit scholarship and 659 students got a general scholarship.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (Maushi) issued instructions on April 12 to release the scholarship gadgets by Thursday.

According to the instructions, the list of 86 and 729 students of Chittagong Board, 194 and 1,262 of Rajshahi Board, 94 and 1,002 of Jessore Board, and 111 and 966 of Dinajpur Board were to be published for a merit scholarship and general scholarship respectively.
The four education boards did not publish the list by Thursday, but Maushi could not give any explanation. Director-General of Maushi Dr. Syed Md. Ghulam Farooq said, “I can’t say why they didn’t publish the list. ”
