Indurkani College was established in 1993 as a Higher Secondary College with the name, from the academic year 1994-1995, students were admitted in the humanities, business education and science streams, and in the same academic year, Jessore was recognized by the Board of Education. In the academic year 2006-2007, hsc (business management) curriculum was introduced under the Bangladesh Board of Technical Education. From the academic year 2000-2001, undergraduate pass-BA, BSS and BCom courses were introduced under the National University and in the academic year 2013-2014, undergraduate honours Bengali, social work, Islam education and accountancy subjects were introduced. In the academic year 2017-2018, undergraduate honours courses in political science and management were introduced. On March 1, 1996, the college became an MPO. The college was then made official on October 11, 2018. At present, the official name of the college is Government Indurkani College.
