Rajshahi University demands online classes
The university’s teachers’ association has demanded that the university stop body classes and take classes online at Rajshahi University as coronavirus infections of micron and delta types have increased. According to the release, about 40,000 people gather at the university every day, including teachers, students, officials, and staff. New year classes have already started in various categories. In addition to this, examinations are going on in many departments. Although corona infection swells, many still have a reluctance to follow proper hygiene. In this situation, the University Teachers’ Association convened an emergency meeting of an executive council at the association’s office at Zubairi Bhawan at 6.30 pm yesterday.
The notification further said that it was decided to accept the proposals in four issues in the meeting and request the university administration to take immediate action in these matters. The proposals are to arrange for all ongoing classes at the university to be taken online as soon as possible instead of taking the body; To strictly follow the corona restrictions in all types of shops located on campus; Tightening the rules on controlling the entry of outsiders on campus and adherence to hygiene within the campus; To provide corona treatment at the university’s medical center, especially to take steps to ensure the required number of oxygen cylinders.
The demands were handed over to VC Ghulam Sabbir Sattar in writing this morning. A covid response team comprising members of the executive council has been formed by the association at yesterday’s meeting of the organization. The team will stand by the teachers and their families affected by corona if necessary. A sub-committee comprising members of the association was also constituted. The committee will conduct publicity programs to raise awareness among all on campus, including teachers and students, on corona issues.
